One of the things that I love about my job is the flexible hours. You see, I am a maintenance man for a store in town that sells stair lifts. Our company is rather busy since we are the only place in town that sells and services these devices, and that means that my job is pretty secure.
When I mention that I love the flexible hours, I mean I like them because I am on call 24 hours a day, seven days per week. Granted, you don’t get a lot of service calls at four in the morning, so being available 24 hours a day isn’t that bad.
I have always been good with my hands and I love that I get to tinker and get paid for it. Whether I am fixing pride lift chairs, or adjusting a lift, I get to face new challenges each day. It makes the job a lot more interesting.
In fact, I have a late night call right now. Actually, it is only the third call that I have had this week, so it has been a lazy week around here. The best part though is that I still get paid even though there are not a lot of calls. This has definitely been one of the best jobs I have ever had – I love it!
