Figuring Out How to Pay Rent

One of the biggest challenges that I have faced lately is paying the bills and keeping a roof over our heads.  You see, the company that I was working for declared bankruptcy, and for the first time in my life, I found myself without a job.

For the first few days, it was nice to have some time off where I didn’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to make it to work on time.  But after I had some time off, I decided that I should go out and look for a job.

What I didn’t realize was that the company that I worked for wasn’t the only one to close its’ doors.  In fact, nearly 500 people lost their job within two weeks of one another, and all of us were competing for the few jobs that were available.

During this time, our savings were dwindling to the point where they are not existent right now.  Thankfully, I do have some work lined up for the end of the month, but in the meantime, we need to eat and pay rent.

I think that we will have to consider selling the gold jewelry that we own or getting rid of the vehicle.  But since I will need to drive to my new job, I guess that we will have to sell the gold jewelry that we own.  If we don’t do that, I just don’t see how we are going to pay rent.
