My Best Friend’s Passion Becomes Money

I have always admired people whose job is their passion. I can imagine working every day with the job you like most and the job will not seem like work anymore.

My best friend loves doing wood work. In high school, he would always amaze me with his artsy carvings out from simple wood.

We parted ways after high school. I went to study finance while he worked in our town because he was not financially lucky.

A couple of years later we saw each other again and much to my surprise, he was more successful than I despite the fact that he never entered college.

He has started a small company that supplies wood carvings to furniture shops. He said he started his way with a second hand automatic lathe he bought cheap. His own creativity and passion has made him come up with unique carvings that people started noticing his products and sales started to trickle.

Today, his shop has 3 automatic lathes. But even if he already has employed several people, he still does all the designs himself. He even does the carving himself. His distinct intricate designs are brought into life with different lathe machine attachments.
I feel proud of my friend. And every time I think of him, I learn valuable lessons about life and living
